Tournament Chart:

The safest bets to meet in the final of the 2023 CSNS Mens Amateur 9-Ball Provincials came to fruition, with Kyle Richard and Wayne Thibodeau being the last two men standing at the end of the two day event held April 29th - 30th at Century Snooker Club and The Rack Bar & Billiards in New Glasgow.

Thibadeau, the official defending champion, having won the event the last time it was held in 2019, was the last undefeated player among 36 players. Thibodeau had match wins over Lorne Medley, Ryan Kendall, Archie Best, Justin D'Eon, and Richard in the A-Side final.

Richard, the most successful player this CSNS season, and the highest Fargo rated player in the event, had A-Side match wins over Peter Doucette, Tony Siddall, William Holmes, Leon Sylliboy, and Evan Paul, followed by a second win over Paul in the B-Side final.

Evenly matched, the two finalists closely battled to an 11-9 score in favor of Richard over Thibodeau. Richard earned the right to represent Nova Scotia at the CBSA Amateur 9-Ball Nationals to be held in Toronto in September.
