Tournament Chart:
The field for the Women's Amateur 10-Ball Provincials wasn't a large one but what it lacked in size it made up for in enthusiasm as the ladies rocked the house at Doolys Kempt Rd. in Halifax to vie for the title and a spot to the amateur nationals.
Audrey Ozon pushed aside all comers and cruised to the hot seat with a 6-3 win over Leigh Ann Giles in the A side final. Meanwhile Tracey Goodyear, who Audrey had earlier dispatched to the B side, put together a couple of wins, including a nail-biting 5-4 squeaker over newcomer Sunshine Bernard, to face Leigh Ann in the B side final.
Alas, the comeback was not to be and a 5-3 scoreline relegated Tracey to a very respectable third place finish. The one set race to 7 final was a back and forth tilt with neither player getting too far ahead and looked at 6-5 Leigh Ann to be near a conclusion but Audrey held her nerve, got it to hill-hill, a calmly ran the final half rack to secure the victory.
Thanks to Amanda Jenkins and staff at Doolys Kempt for hosting the event and to Bruce Lilly for manning the draw sheet during the day to ensure another smoothly run event.
