Tournament bracket:

Doolys Sydney recently hosted the 2025 Provincial Amateur Women’s championships. With other major pool events going on around the Maritimes, it was great to see 18 women come out to compete for trophies, cash, and spots to the Amateur nationals being held later this year in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Defending champion Audrey Ozon was in the field, so the competition was tough from the get-go.

On the women's side, Audrey Ozon seemed the heavy favorite going into the event to defend her title and she didn’t disappoint. Never in trouble in her first three matches, Audrey set aside Ainsley Denny 6-4 to get to the A-side final, where she whitewashed newcomer Becky Gale to await her chance for a repeat.

On the B-side, Brenna Sylliboy eked out consecutive 5-4 wins over Ainsley Denny and Becky Gale, who finished fourth and third respectively, to set up a title match with Audrey. The final was a one-sided affair, however, with Audrey winning 7-1 to secure the title and a spot to the amateur nationals in her home town later this year.

Payouts:

1st $240 + national spot – Audrey Ozon

2nd $180 – Brenna Sylliboy

3rd $120 – Becky Gale

4th - $60 – Ainsley Denny
