The Predator CSNS Ranking Tour returned to Cape Breton as 54 players navigated the final event of the season before the Finale next month. With 9-ball on the menu, there were bound to be some great shots, great matches and a few upsets along the way. Notables not making the final 16 redraw included Bruce Lilly and Clayton Dennis, while a couple newbies to the final bracket were Noel Frank Denny and Rick Brophy. The semi-finals saw Jody Swim make his second straight finals appearance, ousting Wek Augustine by a 7-4 score line in the semi-finals, while Bill MacPherson joined him after surviving a 1-5 deficit, mounting a spirited comeback to secure a 7-5 win over Richard Young. The final was a thriller, a see-saw affair that went to the hill with Billy Mac potting the final 9-ball, delighting the hometown fans and wife Deb, who always sweats the rail and is as passionate about watching the game as Bill is playing it!

The ever-popular 10-ball break contest saw ticket sales push the pot to $420/ball. Josh Boutilier had his name drawn but failed to make a ball on the break, settling for the $110 consolation prize. This was the final 10-ball break of the season and the $4100 pot will now roll over to the first event next year.

Ticket sales on a new cue raffle package - a Predator Aspire 1-1 and a 1-2, each valued at $550 - were brisk and sold out quickly. Dale Brimicombe and Nia Joe were the lucky winners.

Many thanks to our title sponsor Predator for supplying Arcos balls and racks for the event; to Erin Mac Isaac and the staff at Doolys Sydney for hosting once again; to Brian McNamara for his continued support of the cue sport community in providing his terrific live-stream services through Brian's Cuesport Streams; and to the many hands of the tournament committee who kept things running smoothly throughout the day.
