Tournament Bracket:
The largest field in a CSNS ranking event since early 2016 turned out to Doolys Portland in Dartmouth to contest an 8-ball winner for Event #2 of the season. 57 players began the day, with a considerable contingent of new players experiencing CSNS competition for the first time.
Bruce Lilly, having been runner-up in Event #1, improved on that performance in Event #2, going undefeated to stake claim to first place. As a result, Bruce is the early leader in the CSNS point standings.
Guy Tremblay made his mark in his first appearance in a CSNS event, reaching the final and finishing 2nd, being bested by Lilly in his only two match losses.
Kyle Richard, winner of Event #1, had an impressive 8 match wins in Event #2, placing 3rd, just missing out on his fourth consecutive CSNS ranking event final appearance in a row.
Wayne Bishop exceeded his strong result cashing in Event #1, with his best ever finish in Event #2, placing 4th, with 7 match wins on the day.
The rest of the players placing in the money were:
5th-6th place - Christian Coffey and Darrell Abolit
7th-8th place - Qing Chen and Mike Weagle
9th-12th - Christopher Bright, Magoo Stevens, Percy Gouchie, and Craig Teal
13th-16th - Brendan MacEachern, Bruce Abadilla, Dustin Reaney, and Nok Mantolino
A Second Chance event was held which was won by Woody Luddington over Janet Ritcey.
A womens only second chance was also held with Tracey Goodyear being victorious over Connie Reid.
Bruce Lilly had his ticket drawn for the second straight time to try his skill at the 10-Ball Break and Run contest. This time Bruce made a ball worth $82 on the break, but scratched on his next shot, narrowly failing on a tough bank attempt on the 1-Ball. The remaining $744 pot will roll over to the next event.
Thanks to the staff of Doolys Portland for hosting, and to Dale Brimicombe, Bruce Lilly and Janet Ritcey for their hard work keeping the event rolling all day.
The next CSNS ranking event will be Nov 19 in Port Hawkesbury.
