The eyes of Canadian amateur billiards turned to Cape Breton as Sydney Dooly's proudly hosted the MÅSSE – Canadian Billiards & Snooker Association (CBSA) Men's Amateur 10-Ball Championship!
Bringing together talented competitors from Western Canada, Central Canada, and Atlantic Canada, the championship was a true celebration of Canadian cue sports, showcasing the incredible talent, dedication, and competitive spirit that exists from coast to coast.
With national pride, provincial bragging rights, and the prestigious title of Canadian Champion on the line, players battled through a highly competitive field, each hoping to leave Sydney with a piece of Canadian billiards history.
When the final ball dropped, it was Quebec's Eric Fontaine who stood above the rest, capturing the Canadian Men's Amateur 10-Ball Championship with an impressive 9–5 victory over Ontario's Nicholas Ridley in the championship final! 🏆
Ridley put together an outstanding tournament of his own, representing Ontario with a well-earned runner-up finish.
Atlantic Canada made its presence known on the national stage! New Brunswick's Kevin Libot delivered an impressive performance to capture third place, while Nova Scotia's own Mitch Tucker finished just outside the podium in fourth. Eli Yarwood and Randy White both secured fifth/sixth-place finishes, while Mike Isaack added another top-eight result. Alberta's Brett Miller also made his mark with a seventh/eighth-place finish.
Central Canada ultimately claimed the top two positions, with Quebec's Fontaine taking home the championship and Ontario's Ridley earning second. Quebec's Frederic Bailey added another strong showing for the province with a top-12 finish.
