The 32nd Cyril Abs Memorial "Mixed Partner's" Tournament held at Dooly's Portland St. venue on Saturday, July 18, 2026 was a great success. 32 Amazing Teams came out to keep Cyril's Memory alive and enjoy a day of fun and competition. I was so happy running the event and watching everyone have so much fun together on this special day, it just goes to show how amazing our pool community is. While all of the pairings were great, some were a match made in heaven like Colin MacDonald and Gilda Saunders, who dominated the "A" side all the way to the finals, where they took first place.

Some of the other pairings who deserve a mention are Lisa R./Wayne R., Dale Y./Audrey O., Crystal Y./Graham M., Jen R./Johnny N., and Glenn N./Tracey G. who were all dispatched to the "B" side (some very early), and battled their way through some tough competition.

Once the dust settled it was Jen/John meeting up with Glenn/Tracey for 4th spot, after some beautiful playing and a hill-hill match, it Jen/John moving on to meet up with Darrell/Joanne for the long battle to the top. Darrell/Joanne moved on to meet up with Colin/Gilda who were ready and waiting. While Darrell and his partner tried their best, the dream team came out on top and claimed the 2026 1st place plaques/payout, congratulations to Colin and Gilda.

I want to thank all of the players from the Mixed Metro Pool League for coming out to support this event, you all did amazing and such a fun day. It was an Honor to be asked by Glenn Nicker, Tracey Goodyear, and Keith Tyler to direct this event for my 3rd year, loved spending the day with you all and making more memories. Thank you to Jen Reid and the Staff of Dooly's Portland St. for hosting, and to Glenn N. for helping me throughout the day (and to Connie R. for helping me at the start). I would also like to thank Tony McQuaid for bringing some great giveaways for the players, appreciate you my friend.
