Holmes Over Rhodenizer At CSNS Ranking #7 In New Glasgow

Century Snooker Club played host to CSNS Ranking Event 7 on Saturday March 11. The 9-Ball event had 23 players.


William Holmes survived a trio of of close matches to start his A-side journey, coming out on the happy side of hill-hill battles against Wayne Rodgers and Janet Ritcey, and bettering Michael Cullymore 9-7. Holmes then dug in with a resounding 9-1 thrashing of Evan Paul to claim the hot seat and await his final opponent to be decided among those on the one-loss side.

Jim Rhodenizer won his first match 9-2 over Bobby Earley, but then dropped his next match to Cullymore 9-8. Rhodenizer recovered with wins in tilts over Nick Kaiser 7-6, Billy Martin 7-4, Darrell Abolit 7-6, John Baker 7-2, and defeating Evan Paul 7-4 to earn a place in the final alongside Holmes.


In the final match, Holmes, a resident of New Glasgow, defended home turf convincingly, ending Rhodenizer's run with an 11-3 scoreline.


Alton Robinson had his ticket drawn for a chance at $82 per ball in the CSNS 10-Ball Break and Run contest. Robinson enlisted Kyle Richard to Break and Run on Alton's behalf. Richard made a ball on the break, and proceed to follow that up making the one-ball for $164 total before ending unsuccessfully on the two-ball.


The next CSNS ranking event will be March 25 at Doolys Sydney. 10-Ball break and run contest will be $65 per ball + half the ticket sales in Sydney.


2 ranking events remain in the season. The top four spots in the Ranking standings are currently held down by Kyle Richard with 540 points, Bruce Lilly with 440 points, Craig Teal with 350 points and Darrell Abolit with 260 points. The top female is Tracey Goodyear with 100 points.
