Gunn Show 8-Ball XVIII was held this past weekend at Doolys Rockingham and it seems the summer break had left us all drooling for action as 48 players showed up to participate, well over the intended cap of 40. Paul Gunn's events are always well received and well attended and no less than seven previous winners were in the field to kick off what is quickly shaping up to be another fantastic pool season.

A long day with some great matches saw the final four players being winners from the last six Gunn Show events. Colin Macdonald would be crowned champion with a win over Nok Mantolino, with Kyle Richard and Wayne. Thibodeau rounding out the top four.

Darrell Abolit had the shot of the day, having to kick long rail to make the 8-ball in his second round match which happened to be on live stream at the time. A little treat for the pool fans watching online!

Many hands make light work and putting on events of this size requires dedication from a lot of places. To Paul Gunn - our hearts were with you as you made it through the day. These events don't happen without your passion for the game, dedication to your fundraising efforts and just a general sense of wanting to bring the best experience possible to the players.

Brian McNamara and his live streaming of the events adds another dimension to the game. The new equipment is amazing and the viewership increase is a testament to that and your continued commitment to bring the game from the pool hall to the living room for the fans who cannot attend.

Ashley Theriault and the staff at Doolys Rockingham have been gracious in hosting many Gunn Show events over the past eight years, being there almost since the beginning. The players certainly appreciate the upgrades in equipment that allows them to maximize their potential on the tables.

We proudly made $130.00 from fundraising for the Dooly's Rockingham Breakfast Program and The Canadian Cancer Society...Thank you all.

Looking forward to the next events - Women's Gunn Show 8-Ball II and Gunn Show 8-Ball XIX - before the end of 2024.
