Tournament Bracket:
The Amateur 10-ball provincial championships were held in Cape Breton this past weekend. With a big pool event in New Brunswick and the Easter bunny keeping some players at home with family. 31 men hippity-hopped their way to Dooly’s Sydney to vie for the title. In addition, the winner would receive a paid spot to the CBSA amateur nationals later this year.
The men’s division saw local favourite and 2024 champion Ryan Kendall never dropping more than four games as he cruised through the winner’s bracket, drubbing Port Hawkesbury’s own Terry MacInnis 7-2 in the A side semi-final then taking the hot seat with a 7-3 dusting of Peter Doucette in the A side final. MacInnis then relegated defending champion Wek Augustine to a fourth-place finish before shutting out Doucette 6-0 to set up a rematch with Kendall for the title. A spirited affair saw Kendall come out on top a 9-6 winner, reclaiming the title he won just two years ago.
Many thanks to Erin Mac Isaac and the staff at Dooly’s Sydney for hosting our event and to the many hands of the tournament committee who kept the event running smoothly throughout the weekend.
