AAA Division : https://csns.challonge.com/cn4pbo79
24 players descended on Century Snooker Club to compete in the OPEN and AAA division.
In the OPEN division Hugh MacEachern once again booked his seat in the Final only giving up 3 Frames on the way. On the Bottom of the sheet we saw Shawn Fequet book his seat only giving up 3 frames as well. Shawn was appointed to the OPEN division at the Start of the year. He had convincing wins over Mitch Tucker (4-0), Bruce Lilly (4-1) and Jacques Cote (5-2) which put the stamp of approval on the new appointment. The OPEN Division Final started scrappy with Hugh taking a 4-3 lead. The next frame was a battle 3ut in the end Hugh got the win for a 5-2 finish. Hugh also won the high run prize of $50.00 with a 38 pointer. This is Hugh's 4th snooker tournament win in a row. This win also guarantees his spot at the 2026 Canadian OPEN Snooker championships to be held in the spring, venue TBD.
On the AAA side we saw Jeff Gillin and Archie Best book their seats in the Final. Jeff took the lead early but Archie made a comeback to tie is up 2-2. Jeff then pulled out the box of special pots and secured the next 2 frames to become the 2025 AAA Maritime Closed Snooker Champion.
Congratulations to all players for a great weekend of Snooker. Many thanks to Century Snooker club for hosting the event and to Brendan MacEachern for running the Blue Ball Challenge fundraiser. Deryck White had his ticket drawn but only managed to pot 1 ball of 10 tries for a total of $28.00. Looks like no one is going to break Bruce Lilly's record 7 of 10 balls. It stands for now. Farewell until the next tournament.
