A strong field of 69 players filed into Dooly’s Portland in Dartmouth this past weekend to vie for the title in the Predator Tour Finale. Large fields during the season saw records broken for participation and this day would be no different, well surpassing last year’s inaugural event total of 54 players.
Richard “Buddy” Young had an up-and-down road to the final, squeaking past Mitch Tucker 7-6 early on then playing flawlessly in the A side semi-final, dispatching Ryan Kendall to the one-loss side with a 7-0 whitewash win. On the other side of the draw,
Wayne Thibodeau, a top eight finisher from last year’s finale, made his way to the hot seat but it was no easy road for him as he survived three hill-hill clashes along the way before dispatching Young 7-3 to await his opponent in the final. On the B side, Kendall then eked out a 5-4 win over Nok Mantolino before defeating Young 5-3, setting up a clash of players from opposite ends of the province in the final, Thibodeau from Digby area and Kendall from Sydney. The players traded games to 4-4 before Wayne pulled away, finally closing out the set with a 7-4 win.

Dana Luddington organized a fundraiser for Brian McNamara to be able to purchase some new equipment for his live streaming. The 100 squares sold out quickly and a draw was done with Mike Eamon taking home the $500 prize. Dana then presented Brian with the other $500, which will help him update his gear and keep our pool community in touch with our local events. Thanks to all who supported the cause and we look forward to continue working with Brian in the future.
CSNS vice-president Bruce Lilly was on hand to do the loyalty draw for a Predator Aspire cue. For every three cue raffle tickets purchased during the season a player got a ballot and all those went into a draw for the grand prize. Jevan Buchi was the lucky winner - congrats Jevan!
