The Amateur 10-Ball Provincials took place recently at Century Snooker Club in New Glasgow. 37 men competed, some looking to become a champion for the first time while others were looking to add more trophies to their mantlepieces. The men’s division saw a lot of local talent run deep into the event, with John Baker finishing fourth while Chris Kemp and Tony Siddall each placed in the 5th/6th slot. The day belonged to Wek Augustine, however, as he bested Craig Teal 7-3 in the A side final to enjoy the hot seat position. Teal then relegated Joll Mooney to a very respectable third place finish before himself succumbing to Wek 9-4 in the final.

Many thanks to Billy Martin and the staff at Century for hosting the event; to Brian McNamara and Brian's Cuesport Streams for the two days of live-stream action; and to the many hands of the tournament committee, who kept the event running smoothly throughout the weekend.

Men’s payouts:

1st $460 + national spot – Wekatesk Augustine

2nd $270 – Craig Teal

3rd $195 – Joll Mooney

4th $155 – John Baker

5th/6th $90 – Chris Kemp, Tony Siddall

7th/8th $60 – Michael Basque, Neil van Rossum
