Whitewash! Danielle and Brian White Capture 2025 MMPL Cyril Abs Memorial Scotch Doubles

What a beautiful day we had to host the 31st "Annual" Cyril Abs Memorial Mixed Doubles 8-Ball Tournament held at Dooly's Portland St on July 19, 2025. 35 teams came out to keep a special persons memory alive, it should be noted that yesterdays event was the 3rd highest attendance of teams since 1996-97 with 44-42, well done everyone.
There were some very strong Teams in the field, with some amazing matchup's for partners, it was easy to see that everyone was having fun and working very well together.
Too many names to mention, but some of the players who were put onto the "B" side worked their way back through the pack to meet up in the semi's, some others steam rolled their way straight through, impressive.
In the end it was Christa Y./Greg L. and Lisette V./Dale Y. meeting up in the semi finals to see who would meet up with unstoppable duo of Brian W./Danielle W.. Christa and Greg battled it out only to end up in 3rd place with a 3-1 loss, still very respectable and great job. Now it was onto the finals against the Father/Daughter team who worked perfect together, and taking 3-0 first place win over Lisette and Dale, was great to watch and a deserved win.
I would like to thank Jen R. and the staff of Dooly's Portland St. for the wonderful venue and service. To Tracey G. and Glenn N. for organizing this special event, and carrying on this special Memorial that was created by Dale Brimicombe, Cyril was smiling down on us.
To Brian from Brian's Cuesport Streams for covering the day on his channel, Keith T., Glenn N. for helping on the draw/sheets, and to Craig T. for putting this on Challonge.
Finally, to all of the Teams who participated in the Event and made such a memorable day, so happy I was asked to direct it for the second year, and enjoyed spending the day with you all 🙂
