On Saturday March 4, the third Metro Pool League tournament of the year was held at Dooly’s Burnside in Dartmouth. 86 players showed up, being split into “two-point” shooters and “one-point” shooters, and randomly paired for the annual Partners 8-Ball event. The Metro Pool League adds $1000 to the tournament, plus many door prizes are provided courtesy of The Billiard Shop.

Darrell Abolit and Mark Fraser were the triumphant partnership on this day, defeating the pairing of Chris Tilley and Ray Saunders in the final. Steve Hines and Jeff Saulnier were third, followed by Steve Pace and Tyson Beals in fourth. Placing in a tie for fifth were Steve Hipson and Greg Lockwood, and Ian Niven and Brad Doyle. Mark Lohnes and Glenn Nickerson, along with Derrick Goodyear and Jason Ross, finished tied for seventh. The group at ninth place included Dewayne White and Percy Gouchie, Wendell Power and Dana Murphy, Rob Chute and Kevin Teague, and Dave Richard and Dale Brimicombe. The remaining money earning teams in a tie at thirteenth place were Les Peverill and Dale Young, Mel Barnes and Brian Smart, Paul Gunn and Mike Dort, and Dan Deal and Brad Smith.
