The CSNS season kicked off Saturday September 29 with 43 players entered in the first 9-Ball ranking event. Recently renovated Burnside Dooly’s, along with Jen Reid and her staff, were the gracious hosts for this event. Rick Leon drew a tough opening round match against Bruce Lilly, but dominated the match 7-1. This set his tone for the day, as Leon cruised through the A-side, defeating Jeff Saulnier (7-4), Bob Miklos (7-0), Mike Basque (7-4), Randy Demont (7-2), and Bill MacPherson (7-2). MacPherson, before dropping the A-Side Final, had been a winners side wrecking ball himself, dispatching Jay Morris (7-3), Shawn Fequet (7-1), Dale Brimicombe (7-4), and Mike Cullymore (7-4). MacPherson took his only loss in stride, rebounding to defeat Nok Mantolino on the B-Side. The final match was one race to 9, where MacPherson earned redemption with a 9-7 win over Leon. A number of players had solid finishes to begin the season, including Nok Mantolino, who won 8 matches after his opening round loss, to place 3rd, and Mike Cullymore, who advance to the A-Side Semis by upsetting Buddy Young along the way. Jeff Saulnier came out on top over Jon Kynock in the Second Chance event. The next CSNS Ranking event will be 8-Ball in Sydney on October 27. Full list of money finishers 1. Bill MacPherson $465 2.
