Bruce Lilly Takes Down Final Ranking Event Of Season At CSNS Ranking #9

The last CSNS ranking tournament of 2022-23 season was held April 8 at Doolys Port Hawkesbury, drawing 39 players for a day of 9-Ball.


Bruce Lilly triumphed over Wekatesk Augustine 9-2 in the final, his 2nd win of the season. Evan Paul placed third, followed by Justin D'Eon in fourth. Peter Kabatay and Adam Cormier tied for 5th-6th place, with Janet Ritcey and Hugh MacEachern coming in 7th-8th. The final money spots of 9th-12th were occupied by David Boone, William Holmes, Alex Forgeron, and Hugh Beaton.


Brendan MacEachern had his ticket drawn for the CSNS fundraising 10-Ball Break and Run contest. Brendan made a ball on the break and extended his run potting the 1-ball, each worth $100 for a total of $200 before failing on a jump shot attempt on the 2-Ball. The pot will be $1000 at the next CSNS event at Doolys Portland in two weeks.


Being the final event, the point standings were finalized. Two spots to CBSA Open Nationals and Two Spots to CBSA Amateur Nationals, plus travel allowance, are to be awarded. Kyle Richard maintained 1st place, followed closely by Bruce Lilly. Craig Teal earned 3rd place, while Darrell Abolit secured 4th spot. The highest ranking woman also earns a spot to CBSA nationals + travel allowance. Janet Ritcey, with a strong performance in the final event, vaulted into the top ladies spot.


CSNS Open 9-Ball Provincials will be held at Portland Doolys on April 22 & 23. A large crowd is expected. There will be an Open Division and a Women’s Division. No prior participation is needed to enter Provincials.
