Tournament Chart:
The last CSNS event of 2022 is in the books. Ranking #4 of the season saw a fabulous turnout, so great in fact that a separate women’s tournament was held with 13 ladies, while still having 41 participants in the Open draw at Doolys Burnside.
It was the first time in the winners circle of a CSNS Open event for each of the eventual victors.
In the Open draw of the 8-Ball event Christopher Bright went undefeated, topping Bruce Lilly in the final 7-4. Michael Basque was third. The other finishers in the money were:
4th - Craig Teal
5th-6th - Brendan MacEachern, Kyle Richard
7th-8th - Matt Taylor, Chad Davis
9th-12th - Jon Kynock, Dale Brimicombe, Brett Little, Wekatesk Augustine
The ladies draw was won by Gilda Saunders over Tracey Goodyear 5-3. Audrey Ozon was 3rd, followed by Chris Oickle.
The 10-Ball ball Break & Run contest was worth $37 per ball, but ticket winner Michael Cullymore couldn’t manage to get a ball to drop despite a great break with multiple dramatic near prospects. Mike received $29 as a consolation prize (10% of the the days take). The $370 pot rolls over to the next CSNS event.
Going into the new year, the top spot in the Rankings is held down by Kyle Richard with 340 points, chased closely by Bruce Lilly in second with 320 points. Craig Teal is third with 180. Mike Basque and Andrew Simon are tied for fourth with 160 points. The top female is Tracey Goodyear with 55 points, pursued by Gilda Saunders, Audrey Ozon and Chris Oickle, all with 50 points.
Cue Sports Nova Scotia wishes all members and pool friends a Happy Holidays and looking forward to the competition 2023 will bring. The next CSNS events will be Snooker Ranking #3 on Jan 14 and Pool Ranking #5 on Jan 21, both in New Glasgow. The Open 10-Ball Provincials will be held Jan 28 at Doolys Portland.
