Tournament Bracket:
Brian's CueSport Live stream:
60 players made the trek to Doolys Sydney for CSNS Predator Tour 3 (8-Ball). The action was fast and furious in the race to 4 format. No less than seven previous tour winners were in the field and one of them, Jody Swim, went undefeated through the double knockout bracket and the final 16 redraw to await his opponent. Newcomer Eric Young would then prove his mettle. After dropping his very first match, he then reeled off seven straight wins, including surviving three consecutive hill-hill matches, to get a crack at Swim in the final. Jody, fresh from snapping off a handicap tournament win in Dartmouth the night before, was having none of it, though, and closed out the match with a 4-1 win.
The 10-ball break contest sat at $620/ball after brisk ticket sales on the day. Ryan Kendall and Angie Kilbride were splitting and got their number called. Ryan broke and made a ball then had a long thin cut on the one ball which he made but was left with a long kick at the two ball which he missed, settling for a $1240 payout.
Many thanks to Erin Mac Isaac and the staff at Doolys Sydney for hosting the event; to Brian McNamara and Brian's Cuesport Streams for the live stream coverage throughout the day; and to the many hands of the tournament committee who kept the event running smoothly as always.
