Tournament Chart:

Leigh Ann Giles is the new 2022 CSNS Women's Open 8-Ball Champion, defeating Desiree Marshall 7-6 in the final, held in Cape Breton at Sydney Dooly's over December 10 & 11.

Giles arrived at the finals undefeated, among the field of 16 ladies. In fact, Giles did not even drop a game in getting through the A-Side. She had 5-0 wins in matches against Lynn Gould, Erin Mooney, Brenna Sylliboy, and Audrey Ozon.

Marshall had initial victories over Rachel Gould 5-2 and Jen Reid 5-3, before taking a slight detour to B-Side courtesy of a 5-1 loss to Ozon. Marshall then righted her course with a 4-2 win over Mary Anne Corkum, followed by a 4-3 showing against Brenna Sylliboy, and impressively reversed her previous result against Ozon, this time winning 4-1 to advance to the final match.

Audrey Ozon had another strong showing in a ladies Provincial event, taking home 3rd Place. Brenna Sylliboy also made the short list of females making it to day 2, eventually bowing out in 4th place.

This is the third Women's Open 8-Ball Provincial title for Leigh Ann Giles, and her fourth overall Women's Open Provincial crown. Giles earned the right to represent Nova Scotia at the 2023 CBSA Women's Open 8-Ball Championships to be announced some time in 2023.
