After 2 days of battle the Maritime Open Snooker Championships have come to an end. We were deeply honored to have Mr. Tom Finstad travel from Alberta to join us. Tom is a 3 time Canadian Snooker Champion and is a master cue maker as well.

The OPEN division saw Brad Doyle book his seat in the final with wins over Peter Kabatay (4-2), Archie Best (4-0) and Brendan MacEachern (5-0). Not long to wait as Tom Finstad flew through the pack with wins over Darrell Abolit (4-0), Billy Martin (4-0), Brandon Duff (4-0) and Wayne Warner (5-2) to book his seat in the final. Tom started the match with and outstanding 4-0 lead. Brad then picked himself up and took the next 4 frames straight to force the decider. The last frame was a back and forth battle with both players having great chances to win. Tom potted the last red leaving Brad with snookers, required then got in again to run down to the blue ball and secure the Championship. Well done to Brad Doyle for second place, he also produced the HIGH RUN of the tournament with a 92 and took the $50.00 prize.

AAA division saw Jeff Gillian book the final seat with wins over Peter Kabatay and Archie Best. Tony Siddall got to the finals with wins over Lorne Medley and Brandon Duff. The final saw Jeff with the win 4-0 to take down the Championship. Lorne Medley got the $50.00 prize for the AAA division high run with a 29.

Peter Kabatay had his ticket drawn for the BLUE BALL CHALLENGE but only managed to deposit 3 blue balls of the 10 taking home $99.00. Next Blue ball challenge will be over $20.00 a ball. This still leaves Bruce Lilly holding the highest run in the blue ball challenge potting 7 of 10 shots. Many thanks to Brendan MacEachern for running this challenge to raise funds for the Nationals. Thank you to Century Snooker Club for hosting the event.
