Wayne Warner defeated Nick Kaiser to begin the Northern Open Snooker season at the Century Club in New Glasgow. Warner survived a hill-hill affair over Bill Martin in the semi finals, while Kaiser swept in easily with a 4-0 blank of Hugh MacEachern in the other semi final match. However, it was Warner who imposed his will in the final match, crafting a 4-1 win.
